Our finca & us
We are a family of three (plus Nana the cat) who purchased the land 7 yrs ago. We had a dream to live a more peaceful and sim
ple life working on the land and raising our son.
The finca is a farm with olives, almonds and the odd fruit tree. The property is accessed down a 2km track off the A231 making our home of almost 100 acres (mostly forest) very private. The masia and the land had been abandoned for many years so we are slowly working the land to bring it back in to production.
Our days are always full. Caring for the chickens, collecting and chopping wood, rebuilding fallen terraces, working the vegetable patch. We have tried to keep some of the history of the house reclaiming wood from the old masia and repurposing it back into the house. Examples of this include; our magnificent dining table which was salvaged out of the original front door.
and our tables crafted out of logs
We have an old Moorish well with an antiquated irrigation system that we plan to restore one day….
We are off-grid and powered by solar. Our water comes from our bore hole and is heated by a boiler burning wood from fallen trees or the result of our pruning from the olives and almonds.
Wherever possible we eat from the land & so far it offers us; apples, asparagus, grapes, figs, blackberries, olives, almonds, mushrooms, eggs & seasonal vegetables.
